Scheduling Sessions |

Step 1 - Initial parent consultation, without the child, is conducted to collect information about the student including; report cards, prior testing, past school history. A preliminary tutoring plan is suggested. Step 2 - Initial informal and/or formal testing is administered before actual tutoring begins (generally takes one, one hour session) Step 3 - Results of initial testing are shared with parents and recommendations are given as to topics for tutoring, frequency and duration of tutoring sessions Step 4 - D.E.R.'s office manager works with parents to schedule tutoring sessions. Every effort is made to accommodate school schedules, extra-curricular activities, holidays, and vacations. Tutoring sessions typically are one hour, ranging from one to three times per week. Step 5 - On-going communication is provided to parents through emails and phone calls. Step 6 - With parent permission, on-going communication is provided to teachers and school staff through emails, phone calls, and class observations to determine if changes and progress are being seen in school. | ||
