Description of Tests
Psycho-Educational Evaluation
The complete battery of tests requires three to four sessions for a total of five to six hours and are administered to:
- Provide parents with eligibility criteria for Special Education services
- Determine a child's potential compared with academic achievement and school performance
- Determine if learning disabilities are present which are adversely affecting school progress and acquisition of skills
- Develop a learning profile detailing relative strengths and weaknesses
- Determine a child's learning styles
Tests can include the following areas:

Academic Achievement
These tests can be administered as a complete battery including all major academic subjects, or as single subject tests. They are administered to:
- Determine if a student is achieving at grade level compared with peers
- Identify specific weaknesses or strengths in academic skills
- Help school staff place students appropriately with curriculum goals that accurately match the student's current academic achievement
Tests can include the following areas:
- Reading
- Written Language
- Math
- General Knowledge
Cognitive Evaluations
These tests are administered to find out:
- The child's potential (intelligence)
- Discrepancies between the current level of achievement and potential
- Relative areas of strengths and weaknesses
- Learning styles
Screening for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Tests Include:
- Parent Questionnaire
- Teacher Questionnaire
- Review of all educational, medical, psychological reports
Report Results
Narrative reports, including specific recommendations are provided to parents. A follow-up consultation is offered (free of charge) to discuss test findings and recommendations. Advice is given to parents as to how to effectively share test results with schools and other professionals. School visits can be arranged for our staff to share test results directly with school personnel or other professionals who work with our clients.
